Syrita Steib was born to her parents in Pendleton Memorial Methodist Hospital.
She is the eldest child of a former Radar Coordinator at Marathon Petroleum Corporation and a former Worker's Compensation Judge.
She moved from Reserve to Back Vacherie with her family when she was four.
The Senate candidate carried the principles of education, diligence, and community imparted by her parents throughout her profession, leadership, and daily life.
She was a troubled adolescent who, at age 19, assisted in robbing and torching a car dealership. She lost ten years of her life because of her deeds.
Syrita restarted her life after going back home, using the principles her parents had taught her as a guide.
She graduated a Cum Laude in 2014 after receiving her Bachelor of Science from the Louisiana State University Health Sciences Center in New Orleans.
She is a Clinical Laboratory Scientist who holds a national certification and license. After graduating, the candidate started working at four hospitals while applying to medical schools: Ochsner in New Orleans, Touro, Slidell Memorial, and West Jefferson.
