Irish Minister of Education Norma Foley announced that the government adjusted the assessment arrangements for Leaving Cert and Junior Cycle examination students of 2023.

Speaking at Killarney Community College, where she met members of the Leaving Certificate class of 2022, Foley said that she acknowledged that as a result of the pandemic, the Leaving Certificate and Junior Cycle exam class of 2023 has experienced disruption at a crucial stage.
She assured the students that the adjustments ensure fairness and equity for them and are educationally appropriate. The students, parents, and institutions have positively received the news.
Foley congratulated the students on receiving the results and the teachers and school communities for the support they offered to the students throughout their Senior Cycle pathway. She also thanked the State Examinations Commission and Advisory Group on Planning for State Examinations 2022 for successfully conducting the exam.
