Politician: Who Is Maxwell Alejandro Frost? The Gen Z Democratic Nominee In Florida

Maxwell Alejandro Frost is among the new generation of Democratic candidates that are breaking the mold.

Campaigning in support of Medicare-for-all, demilitarizing the police, legalizing marijuana and sex work, expunging marijuana convictions, and restoring voting rights to those incarcerated, Frost is causing waves both in his state and outside of it.

Senators Elizabeth Warren and Bernie Sanders have backed frost.

The latter's support has substantially increased Frost's appeal to the young, as Sanders is often seen as one of the last decent politicians in government.

Senator Edward J. Markey, the author of the Green New Deal, has also publicized his support for Frost.

Markey went so far as to tweet that politicians need to listen to young people and let them lead.

He had never run for public office before but does not consider himself a political newcomer as Frost started working in politics when he was 15.

Frost started protesting gun violence from a young age after the deadly mass shooting at Sandy Hook Elementary School in Connecticut in 2012.

The politician became the national organizing director for March for Our Lives, a group organized by students who survived deadly mass shootings. Frost has also worked for the ACLU in Florida.

Maxwell was born to Patrick Frost and Mazritza Argibay Frost on January 16, 1997.

According to Frost's website, his grandmother, Yeya, and his mother emigrated from Cuba during the Freedom Flights in the early 1960s with one suitcase and no money.

The politician's grandmother worked more than 70 hours a week in Miami factories.

Yeya was often exploited and forced to accept horrible working conditions, all for the sake of her family.

The website states that his mother was also a victim of the system and suffered through similar circumstances as her mother.

Caught in a cycle of drugs, crime, and violence, while she was pregnant, young Mazritza didn't even have healthcare and never even saw a doctor.

Due to the terrible conditions that his mother and grandmother faced, Frost has the political aspirations he does.

Another addition to the cause of his political aspirations is the fact that he experienced police abuse firsthand and saw his community ravaged by gun violence.

Due to his openness about his background and the empathy it has generated, Frost has been called a different type of politician: one that can be trusted.

Maxwell Alejandro Frost is not married and does not seem to be in a relationship.

Frost seems to focus more on his political campaign than his personal life. The man has completely given himself to his campaign and all he has promised.

He gained national attention around the time of the Uvalde, Texas shootings when he confronted Flordia Governor Ron DeSantis.

In a video that has since been circulated widely, Frost told DeSantis that he needs to do something about gun violence which DeSantis answered by saying nobody wants to hear from you, meaning Frost.

The exchange lit a fire under Frost's campaigning as he used it prominently in his campaign ads, stating that he wouldn't let politicians like DeSantis silence people's voices.

Many young voters see Frost as a breath of fresh air and see DeSantis and his ilk as the last gasp of a bygone and racist era. Though only time will tell if Frost's efforts will bear fruit, he has already started something that will change the future of American Politics.
