Seyram Kwami Djentuh Charged With Brisbane Stabbing
Seyram Kwami Djentuh, 20, is the man who is accused of stabbing a 24-year-old man on Monday morning close to the Fortitude Valley railway station.
Seyram was charged with the murder of Lauie Michael Tagaloa yesterday but failed to show up when his case was heard in Brisbane Arrest Court today.
The 20-year-old university student was placed under remand and will appear before Brisbane Magistrates' Court on August 8. Joe Wicking, his attorney, remained silent outside the court.
A fight between two groups of men began around 4 a.m. on Monday in Brunswick Street Mall and escalated to a nearby shopping center, where Mr. Djentuh allegedly stabbed Mr. Tagaloa.
According to Regional Duty Officer Inspector Sean Cryer, police observed the event on CCTV footage, and emergency services were called shortly after. He added that they discovered a male lying on the ground, and people close by had blood on them.
Mr. Tagaloa received preliminary first aid and CPR; however, he was eventually pronounced dead. A short while later, police detained Mr. Djentuh and two other guys, aged 21 and 20, on platform 4 of the Fortitude Valley station.
After assisting authorities, the two other individuals were released without being charged.
