Did Ripudaman Singh Malik Get Shot Dead In Surrey? Air India Bombing Explained

Ripudaman Singh Malik has been shot dead, according to a recent report. He was killed in Surrey, Canada, on Thursday morning.

Malik was a Sikh leader and businessman based in Canada. In 2005, Malik was acquitted in the 1985 Air India bombing case.

The Surrey RCMP informed around 10:10 a.m. that they would send a press release in half an hour and refused to provide any information.

Malik ran Khalsa schools in Canada and was acquitted in the 1985 Air India Kanishka bombing in 2005 by a Canadian court.

The Khalsa school teaches Punjabi language and culture in addition to the Vancouver Education Board curriculum.

Ripudaman Singh Malik, including Sikhs, emigrated to western Canada in the 1970s for better economic opportunities.

Other than Malik, men like Talwinder Singh Parmar, Ajaib Singh Bagri, and Inderjit Singh Reyat later became leaders of the Babbar Khalsa.

By the 1980s, the area surrounding Vancouver, British Columbia, had become the most prominent Sikh population center outside India.

Air India Flight 182 was an Indian flight that flew from Montreal to London, Delhi, and Mumbai. It was operated on June 23, 1985, by a Boeing 747-237B registered VT-EFO.

The plane blew off in mid-air over the Atlantic Ocean on its way from Montreal to London due to an explosion from a bomb planted by Canadian Sikh militants.

However, Malik and Ajaib were acquitted in 2002.
