All We Know About Derek Ryan's Wife, Elizabeth Gannon

Derek's parents got him a drum kit as a four-year-old for Christmas when and it's been a long road for the Garryhill, County Carlow native till now.

Derek's passion for music was further nourished when his father took him to Fleadh Cheoil (Irish music festival).

Songs by favorites like Garth Brooks, Alan Jackson, and George Strait ingrained themselves firmly in a young Derek's heart from his mother's favorite country music radio broadcasts.

Derek, a blond-haired, fresh-faced 17-year-old kid, was originally drawn into the music profession by pop. As part of the new Celtic teen pop sensation D-Side in 2001, he followed in the footsteps of Irish boybands Boyzone and Westlife by breaking the charts.

Derek had three UK top 10 songs with D-Side, managed by Kim Glover, the same lady who managed B*Witched and TV celebrities Ant & Dec throughout their singing careers.

The Irish pop pin-ups were equally successful in Japan, where one of their singles reached number one. When the pop bubble burst, Derek was determined to pick himself up and pursue his Irish and American-inspired country music goals.

He began working as a solo musician in 2006 and spent three years perfecting his technique on London's club and bar circuit while studying to be an accountant.

Daniel O'Donnell re-recorded his breakthrough song, "God's Plan," which began his solo career.

Since then, he's enjoyed a string of hits, including his 2014 album 'The Simple Things' and his 2015 album 'One Good Night,' both of which charted at number one in Ireland.

Derek Ryan is happily married to his wife, Elizabeth Gannon for 10 years now. The couple is blessed with a baby girl, Mia who was born in the 2020 lockdown.

Sharing the news on his Instagram, he expressed his joy of being a father to his fans. "This morning at 12:51, my wife Liz gave birth to our lovely baby girl Mia," he wrote.

"Our hearts are overflowing with gratitude and love." I've never felt anything like this before. Mia is our blazing light of hope that life can be genuinely amazing in the midst of all the craziness."

The star's fans swarmed to his comment area to congratulate him. As of 2022, the singer's net worth is estimated to be between $100,000 and $1 million.

Derek also runs his own record company, Ryan Records. His first client, Irish country musician Ben Troy, released his first album in 2017.

Derek Ryan is 38 years old and comes from Garryhill in Carlow. He was born in 1983. Derek had a passion for music since he was a child, and he and his brother Adrian performed as 'The Ryan Brothers' at local concerts and Fleadh ceoils.
