Not content to leave it there, Tuckot uploaded another video a couple of days later, with a screenshot showing the audience that Britt Barbie had direct messaged him on Instagram and the start of a conversation.

Though there has been no follow-through after that video, some fans wonder if they are now dating.

An Instagram page called @drip2fye started the rumor that TikTok sensation Britt Barbie got a record deal.

Also known as YBN Drippy, @drip2Fye, who has over 176K followers on Instagram, claimed that he had signed Britt Barbie to Atlantic Records.

YBN Drippy's entire Instagram page shows him promoting different artists, posting pictures with them, and acting like a regular A&R; person.

However, he is not an A&R; and is not affiliated with Atlantic Records. Britt Barbie was quick to make sure that her fans knew that she was in no way affiliated with the man nor signed to him.

Another TikToker and rapper, Crystal Crave, stated her skepticism about Drippy being an actual A&R; for Atlantic Records.

Crystal Crave also shared something that would eventually lead to the downfall of Britt Barbie. She shared a conversation between her and Drippy where the latter said that he had signed Britt Barbie over her because Crave's activism overshadowed her music.

Once Crystal Crave's conversation with YBN Drippy about her career and Britt BArbie came out, people started asking more questions.

As they went through Drippy's Instagram page, it became apparent that the man was faking everything.

His posts included various artists who not only weren't on the same label but had little in common in terms of style and aesthetics.

Then there were the man's stories that, although they did feature various rappers and singers, could easily be seen as him stealing their stories from their page and posting it on his own.

Fans were also quick to accuse the supposed A&R; was a scammer because he made up-and-coming artists pay him for music submissions and label signings.

When faced with all this scrutiny, Drippy first posted a name tag with an Atlantic Records logo, his picture, and the name Trenton Roy.

However, when a news source asked him for proof of employment, he sent them another name tag with a different picture and the name Vaughn Raines. The Employee ID was the same in both pictures, though.

The man is clearly a scammer and is in no way associated with Atlanta Records, but unfortunately, Britt Barbie has to face the brunt of the fallout from the man's actions.

As mentioned above, there is a camp of people blaming Britt Barbie for culturally appropriating African American vernacular.

The term "period" or "periods" is a well-known term in the African American community and is used especially by African American women.

The term is used as an exclamation to show a person's final word, where there is nothing else to be stated or debated. As with everything else African Americans have created, the term has quickly entered the mainstream public's consciousness.

Britt Barbie is one in a long line of young caucasian people not only appropriating African American culture but using it in a racially insensitive way, i.e., making it a joke. The record deal rumor only intensified this camp's dislike of the TikToker and her content and made many more people come under their viewpoint.

Many people found it ridiculous, infuriating, and downright racist that a random caucasian girl got a record deal for repeating the word period repeatedly. Despite the false record deal, people's hitherto unrealized anger came bursting out the seams to be directed at Britt Barbie.

There is another camp of people who have mentioned their disapproval of Britt Barbie: the disabled community.

This section of the backlash against her started when Tiktoker "jerseyboydrew" posted a video where they explained the inconsistencies behind Britt Barbie's alleged disability.

The creator proceeded to show four Britt Barbie clips, two of which featured her speaking in a slurring way typically associated with disabled people and two where she not only didn't slur but spoke in a sharper, more direct way.

After pointing out these inconsistencies, jerseyboydrew pointed out how offensive Britt Barbie was to the disabled community and spoke about how he has high-function autism and that conditions like these are not a joke.

Britt Barbie was under fire with the African American and disabled communities giving her copious amounts of scrutiny, and her accounts here unceremoniously banned.

Though her account has been banned as of the writing of this video, during the height of her viral fame, she had over 800K subscribers.

The "period ahh period uhh video" had been viewed over 5 million times.

With rappers and singers duetting her, people making memes and tweets about the song, and news sources talking about it incessantly, it seemed like Britt Barbie was on her way to widespread fame.

However, the controversy from the false record deal and backlash from people claiming that she is making fun of African American people, and the disabled community, have stalled her rise.

She has been banned from TikTok and even Instagram, perhaps due to people mass reporting her accounts. Though many new accounts claim to be Britt Barbie on TikTok, none seem to have posted new content.

Britt Barbie seems to have largely disappeared from the internet for all extents and purposes. The only one of her accounts that seem legitimate is an Instagram page, but with only one post, even that account is hard to verify. Still, regardless of whether she meant offense with her videos, Britt Barbie is also the same person who once went semi-viral for being surprised that hair grows from one's scalp.

Perhaps it's okay for her to slip into obscurity.
