America Alonso is a Venezuelan actress who grew up in the city of Miami.

She  has appeared in films such as Cambio de piel (1998), Crab (1982), and Soledad (1969).

She was the star of more than half a century of history on American tables and screens, starring in plays, soap operas, and films.

Alonso was interested in the artistic media from a young age. She expressed her concern to Juana Sujo, Venezuela's most famous actress and teacher.

America was famous for her exceptional skills, as she could play both a self-sacrificing mother and a villain with equal skill.

She also did a lot of advertisements because of her beauty.

America Alonso died at the age of 86, but the cause of death has not been disclosed. Alonso was diagnosed with a chronic disease in 1984.

America Alonso is not listed on the Wikipedia official page. She is the first actress from Venezuela.

She is the daughter of Russian Revolution immigrants who grew up under fascism and then communism. She worked at the People's Theater as well.

She later used her acting skills at Venezuela's National Television, where she helped develop Radio Caracas Television in 1953. Her first monthly contract was for 800 bolivares.

America Alonso has been working for more than four decades whether it's on TV or on stage. Cases and Things from Home, a comedy starring Jorge Félix, was one of her best-known series.

America Alonso has two children from two marriages. She married Daniel Faras, the legendary director.

She went to Miami with her children in the early 2000s, where she never forgot her love for Venezuela.  

Alonso was very active and informed of what was going on in the country during the 2017 protests.
