She has appeared in films such as Cambio de piel (1998), Crab (1982), and Soledad (1969).

She was the star of more than half a century of history on American tables and screens, starring in plays, soap operas, and films.

Alonso was interested in the artistic media from a young age. She expressed her concern to Juana Sujo, Venezuela's most famous actress and teacher.

America was famous for her exceptional skills, as she could play both a self-sacrificing mother and a villain with equal skill.

She also did a lot of advertisements because of her beauty.
