Lewis was arrested at 7:46 p.m. in Miami-Dade County's Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center. A bond of $1,500 was set for him.
Due to an ACL and shoulder injury, Lewis was unable to play for the Terrapins in 2021. He was diagnosed with a torn ACL when he first arrived at Maryland.
According to the 247Sports Composite, he was a former 5-star prospect and the top linebacker in the Class of 2021.
Lewis quietly signed with Maryland in mid-December 2020 and waited until early January to make the announcement on NBC's All-America Declaration Show.
Lewis committed to UCF and Gus Malzahn after joining the NCAA transfer portal at the end of the previous season.
