Why Is Dr Dave Chokshi Leaving? NYC Health Commissioner Resigns

Dr Dave Chokshi will be leaving his work as a health commissioner of New York next week. He sat and talked with CBS2's Jessica Moore on Wednesday for an emotional conversation.

Chokshi worked day and night during a COVID-19 pandemic. Overall, he was a humble and diligent public servant. 

During the interview, Moore asked Chokshi what kind of pressure he felt while fulfilling his duties during the pandemic? He replied, to be honest, he felt a lot of pressure since he has a lot of responsibilities on his shoulders for the safety of NYC civilians. 

Without the support of his wife and family, Dave can't be able to his work as a public servant. 

Under Dave's leadership, 77% of New Yorkers are fully vaccinated, which is remarkable. You can watch the entire interview on YouTube.

Dr Dave announced his resignation on Wednesday. People are quite sad after hearing the announcement online.

We can't deny the fact Dave has guided New York City through the covid-19 pandemic and has inspired the netizens to be responsible citizens by following the rules.

One user wrote on Twitter, "DR DAVE CHOKSI SIGNING OFF. Are you telling me we won't be able to see this man every other commercial break? He got her through this pandemic!"

As per the CBS News, Chokshi plans to continue practicing medicine at Bellevue Hospital and focusing on the people who matter the most.

Also, Dave is looking forward to spending more time with his family and daughter. He never planned anything and is waiting for what the universe is planning next.
