Who Is Wayne Glew? News Of Sovcit Leader Getting Arrested Has Outraged Freedom Convoy Activists

Wayne Glew is a retired police officer from Geraldton, Western Australia. He is arrested for inciting others to commit an indictable crime. 

According to him, he refused to pay rates on his Geraldton property because he is familiar with the Magna Carta. Magna Carta is a set of laws that King John of England issued in 1215 as a solution to a political crisis.

It has served as the foundation of constitutional and parliamentary government in the United Kingdom and other Commonwealth countries.

Professor Anne Twomey, a constitutional law expert, claims that the parliament can always change its own laws and that Magna Carta has little relevance in today's society.

The recording of him being arrested is going viral on social media. 

The video shows him questioning the officer about the reason for his arrest and the evidence. The officer showed him a copy of a statement that had been issued, for a search warrant as well as his arrest.

However, he claimed that the paper was not signed and that they were doing it to shut him out. The team responded by explaining that the original copy of the warrant is only signed, not the copy that is to be given to the perpetrator.

And the video abruptly ends with the officer attempting to grab the camera.

Mr. Glew is a member/leader of an informal movement of 'freemen' or sovereign citizens' (Sovcit). He is not yet listed on Wikipedia, however, some information about him can be found in a tabloid, like ours. 

He believed that Australian legislative laws only applied if you consented to them. This isn't the first time he's been in the news for defying the law.

He made the headlines in 2018, as a man in Western Australia has had his property seized because he refuses to pay $300,000 in back rates.

Mr. Glew has appealed the council's court order to remove his belongings from the property.

A long-running dispute in Western Australia finally resulted in the seizure and sale of a sovereign citizen"s property. Despite his repeated failures in court, Glew has amassed sizable online followers in his support.

Similarly, the Supreme Court of Western Australia declared Mr. Glew a "vexatious litigant" in 2014, describing his position as "nonsensical and incoherent."

Wayne Glew's arrest was first reported as Twitter news, and no official statement has been issued by a reliable news portal. His Twitter supporter is enraged by the officer's unconscionable approach at the time of his arrest.

Furthermore, they raise the question of how someone can be arrested without a signed warrant paper.

Since his arrest news was not reported by any reputed media. One tweeted, "The news of Wayne Glew's arrest for incitement has obviously not spread yet!"

While some are outraged that he is being arrested without any base charges, he writes, "What is the charge? Are you having a meal? A delectable Chinese meal?"
