Who Is Drake Milligan, The Country Singer On AGT? Howie Mandal Calls Him The New Elvis Of The Country

Drake Milligan appeared on American Idol in 2021 and applied for a recording contract with BBR Music Group while in Nashville as per his bio.

Milligan is one of the candidates who took the stage during the 'AGT' season 17 auditions' second round. He was influenced by his dad's love of country music, particularly Merle Haggard.

The singer was initially rejected by the BBR Music Group label, but six months later he was signed. Tony Brown released his self-titled debut extended play, which he launched in July 2021.

In 2021, Milligan released his self-titled EP. On October 22, 2021, he also launched a Christmas song called Cowboy for Christmas, which helped him attain public recognition.

Besides, the growing artist relocated to Nashville permanently when he was 19 years old to pursue a career in music. 

Drake Milligan, a popular AGT contestant, has been dubbed ‘The New Elvis Of Country’ by Howie after nailing the AGT audition.

He sang an original song titled"Sounds Like Something I'd Do," which got the judges mesmerized by his performance.

Prior to this, he made use of his Elvis Presley similarity by portraying "King Of country music" in the CMT series Sun Records and the short movie Nobody.

The AGT judges' four yes votes ensure that this exceptional country singer will not be forgotten by AGT fans. He was born in the Texas town of Mansfield.

Drake was also influenced by an Elvis impersonator he witnessed, play at a nearby restaurant. So, the Reality TV star started performing locally as an Elvis Presley lookalike, which led to his responding to a CMT casting call.

Drake Milligan's original song "Sounds Like Something I Would Do" has been an instant hit on Youtube since its debut on November 17, 2021.

The official music video for the song has already earned over 10,000 views on the platform, and the number of people watching it is rapidly increasing.

This original song was initially uploaded to Youtube on July 23, 2021, with an official audio clip. The video has already received more than 5,000 views.

The young artist is currently working on other songs in a similar style. He is on tour right now to promote his album and he has just played at Stagecoach.
