Christine Marie Evert, who went by Chris Evert Lloyd from 1979 to 1987, is an American former world number one professional tennis player.
Evert won 18 major singles titles in her career, including seven French Open titles, a record, and a joint-record six US Open titles, for which she is tied with Serena Williams.
The tennis player was ranked world No. 1 for 260 weeks. Evert was the year-end world No. 1 singles player seven times in her career- from 1974 to 78, then from 1980 to 1981.
Alongside her greatest rival, Martina Navratilova, Evert dominated women's tennis for two decades in the 1970s and 1980s.
Evert reached the most major singles finals in history: 34.
In singles, Evert reached the semifinals and more in 52 of the 56 majors she played, including 34 consecutive majors from the 1971 US Open through the 1983 French Open.
The tennis player never lost in the first or second round of a major match and only twice in the third round. She holds many records, such as:

- Career winning percentage of 89.97% (1309–146), the second highest in the Open Era for men or women (Singles).

What Illness Does Chris Evert Have?
On January 2022, Chris Evert announced that she had been diagnosed with ovarian cancer.
The news of her illness shocked the world. Evert, only 67, had never had a health scare of that magnitude before.
Luckily, the doctors had discovered Evert's cancer while it was still in stage 1, so when announcing the news, Evert did not seem as agitated and anxious as one might think a cancer patient would be.
Evert also told the press that since she had lived a charmed life, she did not feel much fear at the diagnosis but would take all the best treatment possible to protect her life.
Five months later, in May 2022, sources close to Evert reported that the tennis player had completed her chemotherapy treatment for ovarian cancer.
Evert stated that her doctor had told her there was a 90% chance that the cancer would not return because it was diagnosed early.
The entire tennis world rejoiced upon hearing the news.
Chris Evert's Health Condition And Sickness
Chris Evert was diagnosed with ovarian cancer, which is a form of cancer that forms in or on an ovary.
The cancer results in abnormal cells that either invade or spread to other parts of the body.
The danger of ovarian cancer is that when the process of its spreading begins, there may be no symptoms or only vague ones.
These symptoms, which include bloating, pelvic pain, and loss of appetite, can easily be mistaken for other illnesses.
The symptoms of ovarian cancer can also be mistaken for old age, as the usual onset of diagnosis is 63 years old.
Ovarian cancer poses risks for women who have ovulated more over their lifetime. These include women who have never borne children, began ovulating at a younger age, or reached menopause at an older age.
On average, as of 2015, 1.2 million women have ovarian cancer, and 161,100 die from the terrible illness.
Of those that survive, there is only a five-year survival rate. Evert is extremely lucky that they found her cancer and an early stage and treated it immediately.

What Happened To Chris Evert?
Chris Evert has not made any more big announcements since her cancer remission.
It seems that the tennis player has returned to enjoying her cancer-free life.
Her current work includes winning the Evert Tennis Academy with John, her brother, in Boca Raton, Florida. This academy also helps coach Saint Andrew's High School tennis team.
The former tennis player also regularly contributes to Tennis magazine, which she also publishes.
Evert joined ESPN as a tennis commentator for Grand Slam tournaments in June 2011.
The former player has also dabbled in designing as, in 2015, she launched a tennis and active apparel line in collaboration with Tail Activewear which she called Chrissie by Tail.
Evert was also a member of the Athlete Advisory Committe for the 2019 Aurora Games.
Evert is remembered as one of the best tennis players in the history of women's tennis.
Due to her mental toughness, composure, and elegant style of play, the tennis player was known as the "Ice Princess."
