John Zaritsky was a legendary Canadian documentarian filmmaker who died of heart failure last Wednesday in a Vancouver hospital.
John Zaritsky won the Oscar for his documentary Just Another Missing Kid in 1982. Rapists: Can They Be Stopped earned him a Cable Ace Award in 1987.
He also won the American Bar Association's Golden Gavel Award for My Husband is Going to Kill Me, as well as a Robert F. Kennedy Foundation Award for Born in Africa.
In 1994, John won the DuPont-Columbia Award for Romeo and Juliet in Sarajevo. At the New York Film Festival, his movies have earned five honors.

Zaritsky, who was born in St. Catharines, Ontario, has a 40-year career and has frequently handled taboo themes such as cancer, narcotics, and assisted dying while providing victims a voice.

Clutton has always been a strong supporter of her husband, despite the fact that they never had kids of their own and the ones they did have were John's adopted children. Regardless, they had a good time.
Annie was also the first person to report her husband's death. In a statement, she said John would like to take a buddy out for a beer or two and view locally produced documentaries in his honor.
