He graduated from "Mission" High School, where he was a tuba player in the band, a member of the football and basketball teams, and a member of the only all-male cheer squad for the girl's basketball team.
Allard met his first wife, Lou McCollum, and formed lifelong acquaintances. They had three children together: Stacey, Rob, and Ryan. At the St. Ignatius Good Old Days parade on July 19, 2008, he met the love of his life, Jill Valley.
They hit it off right away and married four years later. They would always "fight" about who had the better luck in meeting the other. As Jill battled and beat cancer, Steve was by her side every step of the way.
