Who Is Melanie Blake's Husband?
Melanie Blake was supposed to get married to her husband, but she was dumped on the morning of her wedding.
Blake revealed in one of her articles how she was abandoned at the altar after her five-year fiancé had cold feet on the wedding day. As well as how he sought to mend their relationship years later, to which she declined his attempt.
After five years of leaving her in an alter, her fiancee made a contact with her to explain the reasons behind his withdrawal from the wedding.
"I'm not going to lie," he admitted, "reading how I treated you broke my heart out," he added.
"You mean abandoning me at the altar?" she asked. He paused, glanced at me, and then said, "No, for everything, not just that - for everything."
Her ex-fiancee told her that as soon as he asked her to marry him, he regretted it.
With two unsuccessful marriages behind him, he was convinced that marriage would ruin all they had.
He added that he had intended to tell her the night before the wedding when he showed up at her house with her name tattooed on his chest. But couldn't find the words.
He revealed that he was outside the registrar's office for 20 minutes trying to get the confidence to enter and tell Blake that he still wanted to be with her. But didn't want to get married.
Then he acknowledged that he just didn't have the guts and had fled the event in a black cab like a coward. He began drinking binge to attempt to make sense of his actions.
In the 1990s, Blake had a two-year on-and-off romance with Michael Hutchence. She described him as "a man so devastatingly handsome that he could have had a nun breach her chastity vows within minutes."
Hutchence, 37, was discovered dead in Room 524 of the Ritz-Carlton hotel in Double Bay, Sydney, on November 22, 1997.
