Emmy-winning sports reporter and anchor Stephen Watson joined the Big 12 Sports staff in November 2014.

He studied journalism, mass communication, and communication arts: radio, TV, and film, doubling up on his majors in each.

His love for sports broadcasting began in high school, and it continued in Madison, where he worked as a play-by-play announcer for WSUM 91.7 FM student radio and the Big Ten Network's "Student-U" program.

Later, in 2012, he joined WISN-TV in Milwaukee after working as a sports reporter for Hearst-owned WPTZ/WNNE in Burlington, Vermont.

The journalist has covered three NFC Championships with the Packers throughout his stint at WISN, the Badgers' trips to the Final Four and bowl games, the PGA Championship at Whistling Straits, and the U.S. Open at Erin Hills, respectively.

Where Is Stephen Going To Work?              

Stephen Watson has resigned from his position as a sports reporter and anchor at WISN-TV (Channel 12) in Milwaukee, which raises doubts about his future professional plans.

Watson, who started working at the station in November 2014, couldn't be contacted immediately for comment.

Watson's exit comes two months after WISN-TV, owned by Hearst Television of New York City, changed sports directors.

The Business Journal was unable to confirm if Watson's possible destination is another Milwaukee-area media organization.

Watson's replacement has already been hired by WISN-TV. In 2011, Watson, a native of the Philadelphia region, earned his degree from the University of Wisconsin-Madison.
