Sheldon Epps and Mike Epps are together in the Netflix series, Upshaws season 2. The new episodes dropped on Wednesday, June 29, 2022.

Sheldon directs the first two episodes of season 2, "Maybe Daddy" and "Bennie's Woman."

Regina Y. Hicks and Wanda Skyes produced this American sitcom, which stars Mike Epps, Kim Fields, Wanda Skyes, Diamond Lyons, Khali Spraggins, and many more.

Sheldon Epps and Mike Epps were once thought to be cousins. Although rumors circulated for years that the two were linked through their moms, the Next Friday star cleared the air in a 2019 interview with GQ(Blavity).

It is rather usual for people to referred celebrities as cousins, sons, and daughters with the same surname.

However, Mike stated that the men are not related and that they are simply two Black males in the entertainment industry who have the same surname. 

Furthermore, Epps grew up in Indianapolis, Indiana, as the son of Mary Reed and Tommie Epps. While Sheldon was born in the city of Los Angeles, California.

Mike Epps is a stand-up comedian, actor, writer, producer, and rapper from the United States. He is known as Day-Day Jones in Next Friday and its sequel, Friday After Next, and as "Black Doug" in The Hangover and The Hangover Part III.

He voiced the primary character Boog in Open Season 2 in place of Martin Lawrence. With him, he co-starred in the comedy Welcome Home Roscoe Jenkins as "Reggie," Roscoe's cousin.

In the films Resident Evil: Apocalypse (2004) and Resident Evil: Extinction (2006), he portrayed Lloyd Jefferson "L.J." Wade (2007). He has been a regular in the Netflix series The Upshaws since 2021.

Meet Sheldon Epps Father, A Founder Of California's First Black Presbyterian Church

Sheldon Epps said he was inspired by his father to be involved in theatre. His father founded California's first black Presbyterian church, and arts education was an integral component of his ministry. 

"We saw the Los Angeles Philharmonic, the ballet, and the opera, from a very young age," he said. A church orchestra and music instruction were available.

However, when he first arrived at the theatre in1997 there was no such thing as a student matinée, that inspired him. "We have created a massive outreach to thousands of children over the previous ten years," he added in an interview with the LA Times.

He was first lured to the theatre when he was 11 years old and had relocated to Teaneck, New Jersey. In 1973, Epps graduated from Carnegie Mellon University. 

He began his acting career at the Brooklyn Academy of Music, Indiana Repertory Company, Alley Theatre, and Civic Light Opera of Pittsburgh. 

He also co-founded The Production Company where he directed many productions.

Sheldon Epps Is A TV Presenter And Director

Sheldon Epps is an American Tv presenter and director with over 40 television and theatre work.

He has directed episodes of Frasier (1993), Everybody Loves Raymond (1996), Joey (2004), Out of Practice (2005), My Wife and Kids (2001), In-Laws (2002), Veronica's Closet (1997), and many more. 

Sheldon has also directed three episodes of everyone's favourite, "Friends(2001-2003)".

Epps made his Broadway directorial debut in 1980 with the Off-Broadway musical Blues in the Night. It was re-staged on Broadway in 1982.

Since then, he has directed a number of additional Broadway and regional theatrical shows, including Scenes and Revelations, Play On!, Blue & Purlie.

Sheldon was appointed creative director of the Pasadena Playhouse in 1997.

Despite the Playhouse's financial difficulties since the 1980s, Epps has continued to play a part in reintroducing theater to the facility.

Epps was named Senior Artistic Advisor at Ford's Theatre in Washington, DC in 2020.
