Enrique Mora, the EU's Iran nuclear talks coordinator, was detained briefly by German police on his way to Brussels on Friday, according to his Twitter account.
Enrique Mora is a Spanish diplomat who has worked as the Chief of Staff to Josep Borrell, the European Union's High Representative for Common Foreign and Security Policy, as well as the deputy secretary-general of the European External Action Service (EEAS).
Mora, a former member of the Spanish diplomatic service, has served in Beirut, Cyprus, and Helsinki, among other places.

No, Enrique Mora was not arrested, but he was detained at the airport for a short time.
He revealed that airport security stopped him on his way from Teheran to Brussels. Mora went on to say that he was not given an explanation and that the officers confiscated his passport and phone.
He wasn't alone; the other two professionals were also detained but in a different room. They eventually released the man but did not explain why or what they checked on the diplomat.
Enrique used the social media platform to complain about the violation of the Vienna Convention.

Mora was detained without explanation after returning from an official trip to Tehran, and German police took his passport and phones, he said. He tweeted about 20 minutes later that he had been released.
The diplomatic relations convention states that holders of diplomatic passports have immunity and should not be hindered in their travels.
Mora visited Tehran this week in an attempt to resurrect Iran's 2015 nuclear deal with world powers.

Where Is Enrique Mora Now?
Enrique Mora has been the European Union envoy organizing talks with Iran to restart the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action since 2021. He will represent the EU at the inauguration of Ebrahim Raisi as President of Iran in August 2021.
