Is Andrew Gillum Arrested By FBI?

Andrew Gillum is arrested by the FBI on federal campaign-related charges. Both The former mayor of Tallahassee and the Democratic contender for governor of Florida in 2018, and a longtime advisor, Sharon Lettman-Hicks were included in a 21-count indictment.

Between 2016 and 2019, Gillum and Lettman-Hicks allegedly conspired to commit wire fraud by unlawfully soliciting and obtaining funds from various entities and individuals.

They collect the funds "through false and fraudulent promises and representations that the funds would be used for a legitimate purpose," according to the indictment.

When he ran for governor in 2018, he was the mayor of Tallahassee.

He was Florida's first black gubernatorial contender, but he lost the main election to Republican Ron DeSantis, who now serves as governor.

Gillum received national attention for that contest, and notable Democrats including Barack Obama campaigned for him.

However, he later found himself in the spotlight after being discovered in a hotel room with two other guys and drug paraphernalia. The married father of three eventually admitted to being bisexual and went to treatment.

Gillum was discovered in a hotel room in March 2020 with plastic baggies of suspected crystal meth, empty beer bottles, and prescription prescriptions.

He was too 'inebriated' to tell officers what happened when they arrived at Miami's Mondrian Hotel.

He was in room 1107 with two other guys, one of whom was Travis Dyson, a handsome 30-year-old male escort who was discovered nude and in the throes of a heroin overdose.

According to the police report, the third guy, Aldo Mejias, 56, contacted 911 when fitness freak Dyson began vomiting and collapsing.

He subsequently told investigators from the Miami Beach Police Department that he came in to discover Gillum and Dyson 'under the influence of an unknown drug,' with Gillum, 40, vomiting in the toilet.

Gillum later checked into rehab.

In an interview with Tamron Hall in September 2020, Gillum revealed that he is bisexual.

He was in room 1107 with two other guys, one of whom was Travis Dyson, a handsome 30-year-old male escort who was discovered nude and in the throes of a heroin overdose.

'You didn't ask, but I don't identify as homosexual.' I consider myself bisexual. 'I've never expressed it publicly before,' said Gillum, a former Democratic Party rising star.
