Does Freddie Flintoff Have An Eating Disorder? Suffering From Bulimia
Freddie Flintoff has been suffering from the eating disorder bulimia since he was 20 years old. Bulimia is a mental illness in which sufferers force themselves to vomit, exercise excessively, or use laxatives after eating large amounts of food.
He hosted the BBC One documentary Freddie Flintoff: Living With Bulimia in 2020 to help him feel less alone. In it, Flintoff also interviews several other men who had battled bulimia.
The stigma that surrounds men who have this ailment is discussed in the documentary.
Flintoff revealed in an interview that he had had bulimia since he was 20. He had been struggling with his eating condition for a long time, but he had never sought help.
After the film, Flintoff decided he had never previously considered: he would like to get therapy for it.
Moreover, his new book has provided an update on his health and asserts that he is no longer suffering from an eating disorder. But during the lockout, he noticed that he was becoming addicted to his Peloton workout bike, which he describes as "basically a form of bulimia."
