Investigators discovered that between August and November of last year, Ackland searched for information on several killers, including Bundy, Golden State Killer Joseph DeAngelo Jr, Andrei Chikatilo, Ivan Milat, Fred West, and Tommy Sells.

Ackland conducted more searches for Bundy, Fred West, and 'Fred West's house' in the week leading up to the murder of Bobbi-Anne McLeod. 

His interest in the macabre appears to be deep-rooted, with a fascination with death murder, and killers, as well as the means to commit murder, said prosecutor Richard Posner according to dailymail.co.uk.

Yes, Cody Ackland is the murderer of Bobbi-Anne McLeod. After murdering McLeod, he drove 28 miles to a beach, stripped her, and discarded her body. 

He went out with friends and practiced with his band in the days after, appearing happier and more affectionate than usual. He turned himself in three days later, and detectives were taken aback went they discovered a stockpile of 3000 gruesome photographs on his phone.

Those indicated his preoccupation with Bundy, other serial murderers, and crime scenes. The guitarist turned out to be the deadly murderer.

After admitting to the gruesome murder of schoolgirl Bobbi-Anne McLeod, who vanished as she waited for a bus in Plymouth, a man who was morbidly fascinated with American serial murderer, Ted Bundy was sentenced to at least 30 years in prison.

In November of 2021, Ackland, a 24-year-old rock musician, beat 18 years old McLeod with a claw hammer before kidnapping her and torturing her in a forest, leaving "catastrophic" damage to her head and face.
