Where Is Bill Mcguire Now?

Bill Mcguire was murdered by his wife Melanie McGuire on April 28, 2004, and his body was found in Virginia Beach, Virginia, in the Chesapeake Bay.

Bill's body was shot and dismembered before being placed in three suitcases, and it was found in May 2004.

The body was shot many times, according to the medical examiner. He was 39 years old at the time.

Bill Mcguire worked at the New Jersey Institute of Technology and lived in Woodbridge, New Jersey, more than 300 miles away.

Bill met Melanie at the same restaurant where they both worked and fell in love right away.

Melanie went on to become a nurse at a fertility clinic, while Bill went on to be a computer programmer in the Navy.

Bill's car was found in Atlantic City on April 30th, 2004. He drove a 2002 Nissan Maxima, which was found outside of the Flamingo Motel.

The police collected CCTV tape depicting Melanie moving Bill's car. The luggage in which Bill's body was discovered belonged to the McGuires, and they were a three-piece designer set.

A medical-grade towel was also discovered alongside Bill's body, and since Melanie was a nurse, it matched towels recovered at their house and at the clinic where Melanie worked.

Suitcase Killer Melanie McGuire Murder Her Husband Bill Mcguire

Melanie McGuire was Bill's wife, and when the case got to trial, she was accused of his murder and called the "Suitcase Killer."

They had a complicated relationship nearly from the beginning, according to Melanie. They were fighting about the house.

Bill was disappointed that they "settled" on the house since he intended to go to Virginia Beach.

Bill allegedly slapped her in the face with an open palm and put a dryer sheet into her mouth, according to Melanie.

It wasn't the first time he had hit her, she claimed. McGuire allegedly drugged her husband, shot him dead, and then dismembered his body, according to the prosecution.

Bill's remains were placed in a three-piece suitcase set, which was later discovered in the Chesapeake Bay.

Melanie McGuire told authorities to look for Bill McGuire's missing car in Atlantic City after his body was discovered and detectives informed her of her husband's death.

Melanie was arrested on June 2nd, 2005, at her new residence in Brick Township, New Jersey. Melanie was charged with murder in the first degree.

She was sentenced to life in jail without the possibility of parole until she is 100 years old on July 19, 2007.

McGuire gave a rare interview with ABC News in September 2020, in which she maintained her innocence of the crime.

When McGuire was convicted, custody of her two sons was handed to her husband's sister, Cindy Ligosh, and McGuire hasn't seen them since.

She is 49 years old and is being held at the Edna Mahan Correctional Facility in New Jersey.

Melaine Mcguire is not eligible for release until May 20, 2073, according to the New Jersey Department of Corrections website.
